CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging

DG

This nationally recognised course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform dogging work safely and competently in accordance with WHS regulations and industry standards. This 5-day course includes theory and practical training in dogging duties such as planning the job, preparing the site, slinging techniques, selecting and inspecting lifting gear and directing crane operations when the load is out of view. Students must be 18 years or over.

Entry Requirements

  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older
  • Basic English literacy and numeracy required
  • Participants must provide valid identification
  • PPE (e.g. steel cap boots, high-vis clothing) must be worn

Delivery Format

  • Face-to-face training across 3 days
  • Includes theory and practical training, RTO and licensing assessments
  • Delivered using Work Ready training methods designed to prepare candidates for real job sites

Course Content

Participants will learn to:

  • Calculating working load limits
  • Select and inspect equipment, report and record defective items
  • Establish and maintain communication, attach and secure lifting equipment safely
  • Conduct test lifts, direct movement of the load, disconnect lifting gear and direct positioning of crane for the next task
  • Pack up and clean up the site and equipment

Assessment

Assessment includes:

  • Written theory assessments
  • Calculations assessment
  • Practical driving and operational assessments conducted in accordance with RTO and WHSQ requirements

Outcome

On successful completion, participants will receive:

  • A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment
  • Candidate Assessment Summary (CAN) required to apply for a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) – DG class

Fees and Payment

A deposit of $1500 is required at the time of booking to secure a place. The remaining $300 is payable on the first day of the course. If pre-assessment requirements are not met, further training may be required and re-attendance fees may apply.
