This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a non-slewing mobile crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) exceeding 3 tonnes. This is a two-day course, after which the student is required to return to the workplace and complete a logbook, then return upon completion to sit the licence assessments.
A non-slewing mobile crane means a mobile crane incorporating a boom or jib that cannot be slewed and includes an articulated mobile crane and a locomotive crane but does not include vehicle tow trucks.
Upon completion of training, learners are to return to the workplace to complete a logbook and are required to complete workplace training under the supervision of a person with the equivalent CN high risk work licence. It is the responsibility of the learner to organise a suitable workplace, crane access, and supervising operator prior to commencing.
Workplace training must be recorded in a logbook. An individual’s hours will vary, depending on their skills assessment during training, and are determined by an accredited high-risk licensing assessor.
Students paying online are required to pay $1,500 to secure a seat on the course; the remaining $700 is due on the first day the course commences.
