This is a 1 day face-to-face course and upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment.  Basic language, literacy and numeracy skills are required.
 
Unit Overview
 
This unit provides participants with the fundamental knowledge to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering the work area.   These work areas may be hazardous, unpredictable, subject to time pressure or chaotic and testing may occur at any time of the day on land or water.

  1. Know how to prepare for gas testing including personal protective equipment (PPE)
  2. Confidence in learning to test gas and monitor gas on an ongoing basis
  3. Maintaining equipment and completing records of tests conducted
